VDO Fleet Manager Extensions
are software plug-ins that are designed to compliment
the functionality available in the VDO Fleet Manager
2002 Professional software. The extensions consist
of additional reporting and functionality to support
a variety of additional business needs or country-specific
requirements. Some of the available extensions
are summarized below:
The Fleet Manager System
Tools 1 Extension is designed to provide system
functionality that may not be required by all
users of the Fleet Manager software. This first
version of the System Tools Extension provides
a facility to maintain currency information. This
functionality is only required if you wish to
enter fuel costs with multiple currencies, and/or
when using the Fleet Manager Vehicle Costing Extension.

| The Fleet
Manager GSM Software Suite comprises a pair
of software components used to automatically
download data from your GSM equipped VDO FM
200 Plus units at predefined time intervals.
The suite includes a Scheduler Extension that
enables you to create and maintain schedule
entries (that define when and how often GSM
equipped vehicles are to be automatically
downloaded) and the GSM Downloader utility
that then processes these schedule entries
and initiates automated downloading of data
(using data calls) over the GSM network. |

The SMS Processor is used
to manage incoming and outgoing SMS messages between
vehicle and office. Use the Active Tracking and
Messaging Extension to track your vehicles and manage
event and job messages to and from your vehicles
equipped with the VDO FM 200 Plus on-board computers,
GSM modem, GPS unit and Dayton or FM Terminal. You
can be notified via SMS in real-time as event violations
occur in a vehicle and when a job status changes,
to help you better manage your fleet.
The Fleet Manager TCO Driver Data Extension provides
a suite of reports that can be used to analyse
tachograph (TCO) information recorded by an FM
200 Plus on-board computer connected to a tachograph.
This extension also allows you to export a file
of TCO data, for further extended tacho data analysis
by third party software houses.
The Fleet Manager Trailer ID Extension provides
functionality for you to maintain and report on
your fleet's trailer-related information. Functionality
is included to maintain trailer records, including
service information, and a suite of five reports
are included for you to report on which vehicles
used which trailers, and vice versa, and which
trailers are due for servicing. This extension
requires you fit VDO FM Trailer ID units to your
vehicles.
The Fleet Manager Location Reports Extension
lets you determine how much time is spent by your
vehicles at different locations. The extension
has been completely revamped to provide lots of
new repots that will enable you to get a better
understanding of where your vehicles and drivers
spend their time.

| The Fleet
Manager Passenger Reports Extension allows
the user to generate reports on trips that
passengers make.
Fleet Manager Event-Consumption Reports
Extension allows the customer to print reports
that display fuel consumption figures based
on event selection criteria, using either
Metric, Imperial or U.S. measurement units.

Fleet Manager Insurance
Reports Extension allows the customer to print
reports that catagorise vehicle trip data by driver
or by vehicle. The case study of Purdon &
Murdoch, demonstrates the successful implementation
of the extension.
Fleet Manager Timeline
Reports Extension provides two additional useful
reports - Daily Timeline Report and Summary Report.
The reports combine a graphical view of a specific
time period with a trip-by-trip account of distance
driven, fuel consumption, over speeding, over
reving, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, percentage
of time in green band and idling information for
the specified vehicle.
